3.5 Understanding Intent Scores (Low, Medium, High)

Intent scoring tells you where someone is in their buying journey — how close they are to making a decision. Better Leads tracks real buying behavior at the individual level, not by IP address, so the score reflects actual research activity.

The three intent levels:

Low Intent
The person is in early research mode — they are starting to look into a topic but have not committed to a direction yet.

Best for: Brand awareness campaigns, educational content, top-of-funnel ads.

Medium Intent
The person is actively comparing options. They have moved past general research and are evaluating specific products, services, or providers.

Best for: Paid ads, retargeting, direct response campaigns.

High Intent
The person is close to a decision. They are showing strong signals of being ready to buy, hire, or act.

Best for: Direct outreach, sales calls, personalized email, door-knocking.

Matching your outreach to the intent level:

Low

Where they are

Early research

Best outreach

Brand awareness, education

Medium

Where they are

High

Where they are
