I Can't Find a Specific Contact Type

10.4 I Can't Find a Specific Contact Type

If you are trying to build an audience with a specific contact type — emails, phone numbers, or mailing addresses — and the results are not including them, the issue is usually in the Contact filter or the audience type.

Check your Contact filter settings:

The Contact filter lets you specify which types of contact data to include in your audience. If you did not select a contact type, records may be returned without it. Go back to your audience filters and confirm the following are selected as needed:

  • Verified Personal Emails — for personal email addresses

  • Verified Business Emails — for work email addresses

  • Valid Phones — for standard phone numbers

  • Skip-traced Wireless Phone Numbers — for mobile numbers sourced through skip-tracing

Check your audience type:

  • Residential mailing addresses are only available in B2C consumer audiences. If you are building a B2B audience, mailing addresses for businesses may be available under the Location filter — but home addresses are a consumer-only field.

  • Business emails are most reliably available in B2B audiences. Consumer audiences may have personal emails but are less likely to include verified business emails.

  • Skip-traced wireless numbers are available for consumer audiences. Availability varies by record.

Not every record will have every field:
Even with the correct filters applied, not every contact in your audience will have all fields populated. Data availability varies by individual. The Contact filter ensures that only records with your selected contact type are included — but it also reduces the audience size.
