My Download Isn't Working

10.3 My Download Isn't Working

If your list is not downloading or the file is empty or corrupted when you open it, work through the steps below.

Step 1 — Confirm leads were pulled successfully.
Before downloading, make sure you actually pulled leads from your audience using your credits. A preview alone does not create a downloadable file — you need to complete the pull step first.

Step 2 — Check your browser's download settings.
Some browsers block automatic downloads or redirect files to an unexpected location. Check your downloads folder and your browser's download permissions.

Step 3 — Try a different browser.
If the download is not triggering at all, try a different browser. Chrome and Firefox are recommended.

Step 4 — Check the file once downloaded.
If the file downloads but appears empty or corrupted:

  • Make sure you are opening it in the correct application — CSV in Excel or Google Sheets, JSON in a text editor or developer tool, Excel in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Do not try to open a JSON file in Excel directly — it will not display correctly.

  • If the CSV appears to have all data in one column, check that the delimiter is set to comma in your spreadsheet application.

Step 5 — Contact support.
If the download is consistently failing or the file is always empty after completing a lead pull, contact BetterMarketers support with details of the audience list and the issue you are seeing.
