Preparing Your List for Upload

7.2 Preparing Your List for Upload

The quality of your enrichment results depends directly on the quality of your input file. A clean, consistently formatted list produces the best match rates. Before uploading, take a few minutes to prepare your file.

Accepted file format:

What to include in your file:

The more information you provide per record, the better the match. At minimum, include one of the following identifiers per contact:

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • First name + last name + company name (combined)

  • First name + last name + company domain (combined)

The more identifiers you include per record, the higher the match accuracy. A record with only a first name will match less reliably than one with a name, company, and location.

Formatting tips:

  • Use a single row per contact.

  • Use separate columns for first name and last name rather than a combined full name column.

  • Remove duplicate rows before uploading.

  • Remove any special characters or symbols from field values that may cause formatting issues.

  • Make sure column headers are clear and consistent — for example, use email not Email Address or e-mail.

  • Remove any rows that are completely empty.
