Frequently Asked Questions

Does Better Pixel make my outreach compliant?

No. Better Pixel provides data and DNC status flags. Compliance with TCPA, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA, or any other regulation is your responsibility. The platform does not make outreach compliant on your behalf.

Does a site visit count as consent to contact someone?

No. A visitor arriving on your website — even multiple times — does not constitute consent to receive marketing communications from you. Do not treat resolution data as an opt-in list.

What are the DNC flags in a resolution record?

The Landline DNC and Mobile DNC fields indicate whether a phone number appears on the National Do Not Call Registry. Always check these fields before making outreach calls or sending texts. See Section 4.2 for where they appear in a record.

What happens if I contact a number that is flagged as DNC?

That is a compliance risk you are taking on. The DNC flag exists to warn you. Contacting flagged numbers for marketing purposes without meeting the applicable exceptions exposes you to legal and financial liability. BetterMarketers and Better Pixel bear no responsibility for how you use resolution data.

What laws apply to using resolution data?

That depends on your outreach channel, your industry, the states your contacts are in, and your specific use case. TCPA, CAN-SPAM, state privacy laws, and platform terms of service may all apply in different combinations. Consult a legal professional if you are unsure.

Do I need consent before emailing resolution data?

The answer depends on your specific situation — B2B email operates differently from consumer email, and laws vary. BetterMarketers does not provide legal advice. Understand the rules that apply to your outreach before sending.

Can I use resolution data for Facebook Ads?

You can sync resolution data to a Facebook Custom Audience and use it for ad targeting. Doing so is governed by Facebook’s terms of service in addition to applicable law. Make sure your use is consistent with both.

What do I do when someone asks not to be contacted?

Add them to your internal suppression list immediately, remove them from any active sequences or audiences, and cross-reference future exports against that list before outreach. Opt-outs do not expire.

Does an opt-out from one channel apply to other channels too?

Yes. Treat a do-not-contact request as applying across all channels unless the person specifies otherwise. An email unsubscribe does not mean you can still call them.

Is resolution data GDPR compliant?

Better Pixel’s database covers U.S.-based individuals only. GDPR applies to individuals in the European Union. If you are targeting EU-based individuals through other means, GDPR obligations fall on you. Better Pixel does not operate in that data set.

Who is responsible if my outreach causes a compliance problem?

You are. BetterMarketers and Better Pixel provide data and tools. Responsibility for lawful use of that data rests entirely with the account holder. BetterMarketers does not provide legal or compliance advice.

Who do I contact with questions about my account?

Contact BetterMarketers support at https://help.bettermarketers.com/support/tickets/new — do not reach out to the platform vendor directly.
