Use the Claude Code Setup Plugin to Find the Automations Your Project Is Missing

Scan a project and get a short, read-only list of what to add to Claude Code.

Overview

By the end of this guide, you'll have:

  • The plugin installed.

  • A report of recommended automations for one project.

  • A decision on which ones to add, made by you.

Who This Is For

  • Your Claude Code setup is empty or half built.

  • You are not sure which hooks, skills or MCP servers help your kind of project.

  • You want suggestions without anything changing on its own.

What You'll Need

  • Claude Code.

  • A project folder to scan.

The Core Idea

The plugin uses a skill that scans your project and recommends the top one or two automations in each of five categories: MCP servers, skills, hooks, subagents and slash commands. The README says it is read-only. It analyzes but does not modify files.

Quick Terms

  • MCP server: a connector that lets Claude use an outside tool or service.

  • Skill: a saved set of instructions Claude can follow when it is needed.

  • Hook: an action that runs by itself when something happens, such as after a file is saved.

  • Subagent: a helper Claude starts for one focused job, such as a security reviewer.

  • Slash command: a shortcut you type that starts a saved workflow, such as /test.

  • Re-run the scan when your project changes a lot.

  • Add one recommendation at a time and note what it does for you.

  • Keep a short list of the ones you rejected and why.
