The category-standard multi-carrier shipping and label tool for stores shipping physical product at real volume, worth it once carrier discounts alone cover the monthly fee.

What it does

ShipStation pulls orders from connected sales channels (Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and others) into one dashboard, lets sellers buy discounted shipping labels across USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, and automates rate shopping, packing slips, and tracking-number sync back to the storefront. It overhauled its pricing in mid-2025 to a simpler three-tier, volume-based model and dropped per-carrier connection fees for new accounts. It's the long-standing default for growing e-commerce sellers who've outgrown printing labels one at a time from a carrier's own site and need rules-based automation (e.g., auto-select cheapest rate, auto-apply insurance) across hundreds of orders a day.

Who this helps

  • E-commerce store owners shipping from multiple sales channels who need one shipping queue

  • Small brands trying to cut per-label cost via ShipStation's negotiated carrier rates

  • Operations staff who need shipping automation rules instead of manual label buying

  • Agencies managing fulfillment operations for multiple e-commerce clients
