What it does

Paychex Flex is a payroll and HR platform sold in four tiers (Essentials, Select, Pro, Enterprise), scaling from basic tax-compliant payroll for very small businesses up to full workforce management with learning management built in at the Enterprise level. Paychex also offers a separate PEO product for businesses that want co-employment benefits. It's one of the oldest names in the payroll space, and that shows in its support model: Paychex leans heavily on phone-based service reps and local branch offices rather than a purely self-serve chat experience.
