The cheapest way to send transactional email at scale, but it's raw infrastructure — teams have to build the suppression-list handling and reputation monitoring that Mailgun or Postmark hand them out of the box.
Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) is AWS's email sending and receiving infrastructure, priced at roughly $0.10 per 1,000 emails with no monthly minimum. It provides SMTP and API access, configuration sets for tracking opens, clicks, and bounces, and DKIM/SPF setup, but leaves suppression-list management, dedicated support, and inbox-placement testing largely to the user.
